I am the granddaughter of immigrants—one who cast her healing spells with incantations and one who described his love in lyrical, impassioned letters. Their blood is in my veins and I had no choice but to be a writer, a weaver of words. Nine of my books are in print, one is in process and several more are simmering in my imagination. I write about the old country and the new, the many ways we love, the tangle and embrace of family, and finding courage and strength in the midst of loss.
